Wall-clock awareness for LLM agents. Two tools: elapsed-time-between-turns + day rollover detection.

MirrorEthic Temporal MCP Server (io.github.MirrorEthic/temporal-mcp)

io.github.MirrorEthic/temporal-mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that adds wall-clock awareness for LLM agents. It provides context about time between turns to help an agent distinguish “today” from earlier days and avoid resuming conversations with incorrect timing assumptions. It exposes two tools.

🛠️ Key Features

  • Wall-clock awareness for LLM agents
  • Time sense between turns
  • Detects elapsed time between turns
  • Detects day rollover

🚀 Use Cases

  • Ask for “today’s status” without getting yesterday or a prior weekday
  • Resume a conversation after days/weeks and avoid “mid-sentence like no time passed”
  • Prevent “good morning” behavior when continuing after late-night pauses

⚡ Developer Benefits

  • Two dedicated tools focused on elapsed-time and day rollover detection
  • Small, stdlib-based implementation (stdlib, mcp, platformdirs)

⚠️ Limitations

  • Designed around time awareness between turns; it does not claim additional time reasoning beyond rollover and elapsed timing
