Slate (electrik/slate) is a shadcn-inspired Laravel Blade UI kit for building product interfaces with anonymous components, Tailwind CSS v4, Slate-owned design tokens, first-class dark mode, and Livewire-aware forms.

If you want shadcn-style UI in Laravel without React, without a copy-paste CLI, and without leaving Blade — use Slate.

Why Slate

Not for you if you need React/Vue components, a shadcn-style add CLI that copies files into your app, or a full admin panel framework. Slate is a UI kit, not a SaaS starter.

Quick start

1. Install

composer require electrik/slate:^3.0

2. Import CSS

In resources/css/app.css, after Tailwind:

@import 'tailwindcss';
@import '../../vendor/electrik/slate/resources/css/slate.css';

3. Build

npm run build

4. Use a component

That is the full install path: Composer → one import → Blade. No Artisan publish step required for basic use.

Components

The 3.x line ships a full surface of primitives and compositions (50+ named roots, 200+ Blade templates including parts). Grouped overview:

Theming

Slate uses owned tokens such as --slate-primary, --slate-background, and --slate-destructive, mapped into Tailwind theme aliases in resources/css/slate.css.

Requirements

• PHP 8.3+
• Laravel 12.x or 13.x
• Tailwind CSS v4
• Alpine.js for interactive components (dialog, tabs, tooltip, dropdown-menu, toast, sidebar, and similar)
