BirdieAPI MCP server
The golf data API. PGA Tour leaderboards with finishing positions, earnings and points, round scores and hole-by-hole scorecards, courses with par and yardage per hole, player and course history, our own strokes-versus-field rating, par-3/4/5 scoring splits and the winner prices of the four men's majors by sportsbook. The LPGA, LIV, the DP World Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour use the same tools. REST API and MCP server. 500 free credits every month, no card.

Run it locally (stdio)
Most clients connect to https://mcp.birdieapi.com/mcp directly. For a client that launches a local process instead:
git clone https://github.com/noahowsh/birdieapi-mcp.git && cd birdieapi-mcp && npm install
BIRDIEAPI_API_KEY=your_key node index.js
{ "mcpServers": { "birdieapi": { "command": "node", "args": ["/path/to/birdieapi-mcp/index.js"], "env": { "BIRDIEAPI_API_KEY": "your_key" } } } }
It forwards to the hosted server with your key, so every tool and credit cost is the same.
Skills
Sixteen free Claude skills in skills/ turn Claude into a golf analyst on top of these tools: tournament and player lookups, strokes-versus-field ratings, par-3/4/5 and hole-by-hole scoring, course fit, a tournament simulation, odds math for the four majors' outright markets, and the methodology (leak-free features, walk-forward validation, calibration, edge detection, backtesting) to test your own models.
git clone https://github.com/noahowsh/birdieapi-mcp.git
Or install them as a Claude Code plugin:
/plugin marketplace add noahowsh/birdieapi-mcp
/plugin install birdieapi-skills@birdieapi
Or with the skills CLI: npx skills add noahowsh/birdieapi-mcp.
Point Claude at the skills/ folder, connect the MCP server below for live data (500 free credits every month, no card), and ask a question. Start with the dispatch skill if you are not sure which one fits. The full catalog is in skills/README.md.
Python
The official Python client is on PyPI: birdieapi.
pip install birdieapi
export BIRDIEAPI_API_KEY=sk_live_...
from birdieapi import Client
client = Client()
events = client.list_tournaments(status="final", limit=3)["tournaments"]
for e in events:
print(e["tournament_id"], e["name"], e["winner_name"], e["winning_to_par"])
Typed errors for a bad key, no credits left, not found and rate limits, automatic retries, and to_dataframe for pandas.
Quick start
This is a hosted (remote) MCP server over Streamable HTTP. There is nothing to install.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http birdieapi "https://mcp.birdieapi.com/mcp?key=YOUR_API_KEY"
Claude Desktop, Cursor and other clients
{
"mcpServers": {
"birdieapi": {
"url": "https://mcp.birdieapi.com/mcp?key=YOUR_API_KEY"
}
}
}
The key can also be sent as an x-api-key header or Authorization: Bearer. Connecting and listing tools works without a key; calling a tool needs one.
REST
curl -X POST https://mcp.birdieapi.com/v1/list_tournaments -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"
Every tool is POST /v1/{tool} with a JSON body.
Examples
Runnable Python (standard library only) and Node 18+ (no dependencies) examples live in examples/:
export BIRDIEAPI_API_KEY=your_key

node examples/node/quickstart.mjs
